Have you ever wondered why it's so hard to build healthy routines or a peaceful relationship with your body?

From food systems to fractured healthcare, misleading self-help to unrelenting work and 24-hour news, the infrastructure around us does not generally support durable health and well-being.

Health is about freedom from pain, suffering,  insecurity, fear, and strict, regimented limitations.

Sustainable well-being is rooted in 👉 safety, respect, systemic reinforcements, a clean environment,  personal agency, connection, and pleasure.

Getting there is a matter of strengthening our bodies, communities, and safety nets.

Workshops & Events

Overwhelm is a drain on individuals and organizations. If your community needs support, give them resources for RELIEF. The research-based keynotes and interactive workshops I teach help establish a common language around health and give participants a framework they can adapt for the rest of their lives.

Sarah Hays Coomer

Like you, I am a lot of things.

I’m a Mayo Clinic- and National Board-certified health coach, Forbes Health columnist, freelance journalist, National Strength and Conditioning Association certified personal trainer, speaker, and author of three books.

I’m a mom to one kid and two dogs and a champion of every human being's right to be in their body unapologetically and without fear of discrimination.

I’m also a person who struggled for over a decade with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and chronic pain. I know how it feels to be at war with your body and food, and I have helped many people find the way out.

Through books and science writing, private and group coaching, university, non-profit, and corporate workshops, I have spent the past 20 years helping people put down weapons of war against their own bodies and build responsive, accessible approaches to health and healing.

I work on two distinctly different fronts:

➡️ reporting on research, people, and organizations creating  breakthrough solutions for entrenched challenges in health and healthcare

➡️ health coaching in private, group, and organizational settings to provide concrete, evidence-based tools for healing—rooted in kindness, creativity, and environmental and community reinforcements.

My books, workshops, journalism, and the Relief By Design self-paced course are all part of this work.
