As a Mayo Clinic and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I work with people who want to step off the tilt-a-whirl of chronic stress and learn how to bounce.

Life in the modern world can feel like standing in on-coming traffic—with risks to our health and safety coming at us like torpedos and a political inferno burning around us.

We're tossed about like lightning bugs in a mason jar, banging into glass walls and trying to get our footing. There's no stopping the perpetual motion, but the remedy isn't to hang on tighter.

Strength and resilience come from learning how to bounce, so you can recover and keep showing up for whatever matters most.

My job as a coach is to help you find and follow your best instincts, to honor the accumulated knowledge you already possess, and to follow your curiosity and strengths where they lead.

Your job is to listen to those instincts - breathe - and build a support system of steel beams and plush pillows to catch you as you rebound, more agile by the day.

Our bodies are conduits for living.

They are at the center of every experience we have.

Coaching is an exploration of ten areas of life that impact your health and productivity. These areas dovetail and collide where you least expect, and trying to control them becomes an exhausting, unending game of whack-a-mole.

So many of us are cut off at the neck, trying to whip ourselves into shape in one way or another. It gets beastly hot under that kind of fire. But if we stop yelling for a minute and start checking in with the messages being sent by our daily routines—the impulses that shape our days and the pursuits that make time fly—we find we have a lot more agency than we thought.

Through this work, your body ceases to be the enemy and becomes your greatest teacher.

What is it like to work with me?

"Working with Sarah has been liberating and transformational. She helped me realize, after years of dieting, that I didn't have to deprive or punish myself, and there wasn't something wrong with me. I simply wasn’t listening to my body. What a wake up call! I’m finding greater peace every day, and as a result my choices are getting healthier. Sarah’s encouragement, wisdom, and genuine compassion have been life-changing. I’m forever grateful to have found her. "

Working with Sarah, I have created a healthier approach to food, movement and exercise, and my overall health—but the most important work I have done is to rewrite what I believed those things should look like. She knows how to ask the right questions, share ideas and experience that help continue to move you in whatever direction you need to be going, and, most importantly, do it with true acceptance. I have been so lucky to have had Sarah as a friend, mentor, and coach. I recently walked into a new decade of life feeling more confident and secure in who I am, and my time with Sarah has played a big role in that. It has been one of the most important investments of my life.

Coaching is for you if...

You know what you want to do but can't seem to do it.

You don't know what you want to do, but, whatever it is, it's something different.

You are done with any program whatsoever that requires you to manipulate your body in any way. Done. Finito.

You are tirelessly devoted to your family, work, and community... and you're also losing your breath... and something has to give.

You want to value your body, rather than loathing it for the rest of your life.

You are no longer willing to question your own judgment, intellect, or worth based on other people's ideas about what beauty and power are supposed to look like.

You're game for a little upheaval, an adventure, an escapade, a few stumbles, and a caper or two while building a stockpile of reinforcements to smooth out the rough patches and build speed and endurance for the straightaways.

Coaching is not for you if...

You want someone to dictate a generic, one-size-fits-all plan for you.

You are facing an acute crisis that requires medical or psychological intervention.

You are unwilling or unable to devote time and energy to healing.

You measure progress and well-being exclusively by the numbers on a scale or in your diet app.

What you can expect from me

Respect - In our sessions, you can expect my full attention and complete investment in you, your goals, and whatever challenges you face. I see strength, power, and beauty in every person I work with, and there is nothing I love more than helping you see the same.

Problem-solving - Together we will step out to get perspective on the issues you're facing and step back in to find solutions that work for you—from tiny daily routines to big life-altering decisions.

Honesty - I will always tell you the truth when you seek feedback. I can't do the work for you, but I can help you find your way.

Support - Everyone is capable of change, and you are no exception. With 18 years of experience coaching and training people in all sorts of predicaments, I will help you assess your readiness for change, find what motivates you, weigh all of the mayhem and relief you can expect by shaking things up, and build the confidence you need to stretch, bend, flex, or otherwise grow into a life, a career, and a body that fit just right.

Confidentiality - Everything you say stays between us. I will never share or divulge any of the details of our sessions unless you release me to do so in writing, except as required by HIPAA laws.

Zero judgment - Your perspective is the juice that fuels this whole operation. The more honest you can be, the better, and you'll get zero judgment from me. Period.

What you can expect for yourself

Learn to combine wellness and pleasure

Build a foundation of reinforcements for change and stability

Create an emergency plan

Set boundaries by speaking and acting on the truth.

Practice dosing yourself everyday with sneaky, purpose-driven rituals.

Listen to your body, give it what it needs, and be ready to pivot.

Connect your ambitions with your values, and find out what "okayness" means for you.

  • What matters most to you, and how are your daily rituals connected to those priorities?

  • How does your well-being impact your work, and how does your work impact the world around you?

  • What reinforcements do you need, and how can you reinforce the reinforcements?

I've heard a lot of people's stories, and I've yet to hear one that isn't compelling and unique. The question is, where does it go from here? If you bring your curiosity, I promise to bring mine. Together, we'll figure out what comes next.

Pushing the boundaries around who you are doesn’t have to feel like hard labor.

It can feel like coming home.

"Sarah addresses not only nutrition and exercise obstacles but gives you a forum to work on root causes of self-sabotage and what's holding you back from success."

Katrina Kent

Director of Events, T.D. Ameritrade

"Sarah is fantastic at finding out what students and faculty are thinking about and helping us understand how what we care about relates to personal and societal wellness. That would be enough, but she also helps us all move toward compassion, understanding, and peace. She is refreshingly upbeat and frank--so needed in these times!"

"Our team has been raving about their sessions with Sarah—so much so that they are asking for additional ones. The framework has been so eye-opening!"
